5.–9.7.2010 Third gOcad Training Course for ProMiners at INPL-Nancy, Vandoeuvre-Lès-Nancy, France
Ten participants (including 3 women) from 4 different countries joined the third gOcad Training Course held in Nancy from July 5 to July 9, 2010. The objective of the course was to provide practitioners from the exploration and mining industry theoretical concepts and training requested to build realistic 3D geological models, and resources assessment tools using gOcad.

7.5.2010 ProMine Stakeholder Database goes On-Line
We consider that involving stakeholders is an integral part of the success of the ProMine Project. Stakeholders are all those that are involved, or impacted by the actions of ProMine, be they internal or external to the Project. The most obvious ProMine stakeholders are, thus, the ProMine Partners and end users and consumers of the new technologies and products developed in ProMine.

22.−23.4.2010 gOcad Training Course in Lisbon goes ahead despite volcanic cloud
The closure of airports across Europe due to volcanic ash forced the cancellation of the second gOcad Training Course during 19-20 April 2010. The Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL), France, and the National Laboratory for Energy and Geology (LNEG), Lisbon, Portugal agreed to provide the course using a video system through the internet.

30.3.2010 ProMine Information Day in Freiberg receives active interest from industry
The ProMine Information Day in Freiberg focused on the perspectives of iron hydroxysulphate as a new, valuable material for the development of nano-brown iron oxide pigments and as raw material for water purification products. These highly innovative product applications are being researched in ProMine by German partners G.E.O.S. and WOLA.

17.−19.3.2010 ProMine Attending 1st China-EU Workshop on Clean Production Technologies
ProMine was invited by Administrative Center for China’s Agenda 21 (ACCA21),
Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology, P. R. China and European Commission, DG Research Industrial Technologies, to attend “1st China-EU Workshop on Clean Production Technologies” held in Beijing (17-19 March, 2010) where Project Manager Juha Kaija gave a presentation entitled “Clean extractive industry to deliver new products to manufacturing sector – Introduction to ProMine project”.
25.2.2010 Successful ProMine Information Day in Brussels
The 1st ProMine Information Day held on 25th February 2010 in Brussels attracted over 60 participants from 23 European countries, including 3 representatives from the European Commission. The event was opened by GTK´s Research Director Keijo Nenonen, who also chaired the event. After the address by Milan Grohol, European Commission, ProMine WP Leaders presented their Work Packages.

17.─18.2.2010 ProMine Training workshop in Thessaloniki
An internal ProMine training workshop was held at IGME premises in Thessaloniki on 17-18 February, co-organized with Hellas Gold. The purpose of the workshop was to train colleagues from other IGME departments for them to be able to work and operate independently the ProMine mineral resources database.

28.9.─2.10.2009 First oGad Training Course for Prominers at TU Bergakademie, Freiberg, Germany
Fifteen participants from 5 different countries joined the first gOcad Training Course held in Freiberg from September 28 to October 2, 2009. The objective of the course was to provide practitioners from the exploration and mining industry with theoretical concepts and training required to build realistic 3D geological models and resources assessment tools using the gOcad software. The training course was hosted by the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
